Honolulu – International Business Lounge

Location: Airside, EWA Concourse, above Gate 26
Hours: Lounge opens 2 ½ hours prior to scheduled Qantas and Jetstar departures
Lounge Access & Eligibility: First & International Business Class passengers and Jetstar Business Max Fare ticket holders.  Platinum One, Platinum and Gold Frequent Flyer members.  Qantas Club members.  Emerald & Sapphire OneWorld members.  International First & Business OneWorld passengers.

General opinion is that this lounge is not a great offering from Qantas, with the primary concern being the small size.  Honolulu is a small airport with a relatively small amount of traffic so there may be some excuse for the footprint Qantas have created, but we feel they perhaps could have used the space better.  There’s not a lot of seating with space for maybe sixty people, and it can get crowded at peak times.  On the up side the space is nice and clean, and appears well-maintained.

Several members of our staff have experienced this lounge and their thoughts on the services and facilities are below -

Qantas & Jetstar flights depart in the morning, so there were a few cereal boxes there for breakfast, and pastries, but not a lot of food.

Bar Service
Self-service, quite good variety of beer, wine & spirits.

Tea, Coffee & Beverages
Self-service, not a lot of choice.

HNL QF Club Food Bar

Showers & Toilets
Two toilet cubicles and a shower, all looked clean.

Wireless Internet
Wi-Fi included, just need to ask for the password at reception.

Business Centre
There are a several desks set up with computers available.

HNL QF Club Workstation

Staff & Service
The staff are very friendly, there was one person on reception and two or three in the lounge itself clearing dishes and re-stocking food.

The lounge is still a better option than the terminal as there aren’t many shops and cafes in Honolulu Airport near the Qantas departure gates.  Tip of the Day – make sure you know where your departure gate is, as the Qantas gates can be quite a distance from the lounge, so you’ll need to allow enough time to make your way there and board your flight on time.
