Qantas have just announced that more aircrafts are being added to the biggest fleet renewal program in its history. The airline has already added 11 new aircrafts over the past financial year and are looking to add another 20 in the next.
The ongoing program is also focusing on more network opportunities, passenger comfort and emissions reduction benefits. It comes with a high customer demand on restoring trust in the Qantas brand and experience.
Since September 2023, Qantas have invested an additional $230 million and rolled out more than 120 customer initiatives and service improvements. With this, Qantas have announced an additional 20 new aircrafts that are set to arrive in the coming year.
Furthermore, the airline’s two remaining A380s will be returning in the next 18 months as well. Excitingly, Qantas’s new Airbus A321XLRs will commence flying next year. The new Airbus will be a part of the ongoing replacement of the fleet of Boeing 737 aircrafts.
This is set to be done over the next decade and will allow for new non-stop routes that aren’t possible on Qantas’ current aircrafts.
Economy seats with comfort seat cushioning
The largest overhead bins of any single-aisle aircraft that allow for 60 per cent more bags than the B737
A spacious cabin with higher ceilings, large windows, and a wider cabin than the B737
Fast, free Wi-Fi and an improved Qantas Entertainment App for streaming
Qantas is prioritising its customers with this renewal program, ensuring to take in feedback to service improvements. The airline will also be improving the Qantas Agency Connect site to offer more efficient communication channels such as Live Assistant. This will provide customers with faster access to the Qantas contact centre and will assist in simpler service needs.
