Qantas has announced the launch date of their new Melbourne - San Francisco service.
The flights to San Fran, operated by a 787 Dreamliner will start on September 1st this year.
The introduction of the new route means an adjustment to the Melbourne - Los Angeles Dreamliner service, with the new planes splitting their time between the 2 Californian cities. Dreamliner flights will operate from Melbourne to San Francisco 4 times a week and to Los Angeles 2 times a week from September. (QF 93, Qantas’s A380 service to LA will still operate daily.)
Melbourne - San Francisco flights will operate on Wednesdays, Thursdays, Saturdays, and Sundays departing at 9:40pm and arriving at 7pm. Melbourne - LA will operate at the same time on Mondays and Fridays. (Departure time is adjusted +1 hour during daylight savings).
The return flights will depart San Francisco at 10pm on Wednesdays, Thursdays, Saturdays, and Sundays, arriving in Melbourne at 6:30am 2 days later. And depart Los Angeles at 11:55pm on Tuesdays and Fridays, arriving at 7:50am 2 days later.
