Qantas is set to grow their network in the USA, today announcing new direct flights from Brisbane to Chicago and San Francisco.
The airline will start flying the two new routes, which will be operated by new Qantas Dreamliners featuring business class, premium economy and economy cabins, by the end of April 2020.
Qantas will fly to Chicago four times a week, and to San Francisco 3 times a week.
The new service to Chicago will be the first to directly connect Australia with the third largest city in the US, and one of American Airlines largest hub cities. Providing Qantas passengers with 30 new one stop destinations.
Brisbane to Chicago will take approximately 16 hours and 20 minutes, the fourth longest passenger flight in the world, and the second for Qantas (behind the Perth-London service).
The new Brisbane to San Francisco flight will take approximately 12 hours 40 minutes and will bring the airline’s total number of flights from Australia’s East Coast to San Francisco to 14 a week.
Update - Direct Qantas flights from Brisbane to Chicago and San Francisco are now open for booking. San Francisco flights will begin on the 9th of February 2020 and operate three times per week, while Chicago flights will begin on the 20th of April 2020 and operate four times a week. The new routes will see a total of 14 weekly services year-round between Brisbane and the US, including the daily 787 Brisbane to Los Angeles.
