Qantas is outsourcing the naming of their 8 new dreamliners to the Australian public in order to come up with 8 unique names representing the Spirit of Australia.
Rather sensibly Qantas will be selecting a Top 24 shortlist from the public suggestions that will then be put forward to a public vote.
The airline is looking for Australian icons to name the planes after, a notable person, ground breaking invention, a saying, or a landmark. They’ve even suggested lamington as an option. We wouldn’t mind travelling on the Flying Lamington.
